50 Years of Women's Golf
The Tri-county Women's Golf Association (TCWGA)
was founded in 1956.
We welcome all women amateur players from 0-36
handicaps. We participate in flight play twice a month at various Northeast Ohio public courses. Join us, it's fun!
The Tri-county Women's Golf Association (TCWGA) was founded in 1956. The Association was formed
to provide a competitive arena for amateur women golfers, according to USGA rules of play and to accommodate women who like
to golf on weekends in 18-hole events with other women golfers who have similar talents.
Membership originally started
with women from Stark, Summit and Medina counties and has now expanded into several other surrounding counties.
TCWGA
is a member of the GHIN System of the USGA which totals the handicap of the golfers. TCWGA currently has approximately 60
members and provides three flights to better serve each woman's capabilities: Flight 1 (18 hole handicap range of 0 to 17);
Flight 2 handicap range of 18 to 23); and Flight 3 (handicap range of 24 to 36). These flights may change according to membership
and handicap ranges.
TCWGA is governed by a Constitution and By-Laws under which all members abide. Our golf season
is comprised of eight 18-hole regular events held at various golf courses the one Saturday and one Sunday of each month, a
Scramble event, and one 36-hole championship tournament. The golf season runs from May through September. Our executive board
consists of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Handicap Chairperson, Tournament Chairperson, Assistant Tournament
Chairperson, and 3-Board of Governors. Please contact Membership Chair, S. Billingsley at 330.735.2829 or President, Kathy Baker at
330.626.5383 if interested in joining.
